Sixteen year old Donny Govan lived in Ballarat but went missing from Echuca on the 1st of September 2012 where he was camping with his sister and four friends. At approximately 8:30pm, after a few drinks, Donny left the campsite claiming his fellow campers were out to get him. He did not have a phone or any money on him. He was wearing a black tshirt with a ‘Flight Path’ logo, white board shorts and black sneakers. He also has spacer earrings in his ears.
An elderly woman who lives 10km from the campsite claims that a boy matching Donny’s description came out of the bush and asked her for breakfast a few days after he disappeared. She said the boy told her he was going to Bendigo.
A man also called Crimestoppers to say he had given a boy who matched Donny’s description a ride on the Murray Valley Highway near Swan Hill. He claimed the boy was wearing tracksuit pants and a hoodie in the 37 degree heat and that his conversation was confusing and didn’t make any sense. He dropped the boy off at Lake Boga.
